Bite Rehabilitation

Many disciplines of dentistry were incorporated in this case. This patient had extensively worn and broken natural teeth, porcelain crowns that were breaking, an uneven smile, and an overall uneven bite. The patient was exhibiting early signs of TMJ discomfort (clicking jaw joints). In order to provide a stable long term result, we needed to address the ‘bite’. In the end, this patient had numerous porcelain, and gold restorations fabricated. The smile ended up being more symmetrical, and bite more comfortable. The bite was restored according to the “Dawson Philosophy’ of centric relation. The patient can now have a functional and durable bite, an esthetic smile, and peace of mind that it will stand the test of time.
